Mirage is a regular spare tower PC turned into a server to replace Shore, and still connected to ShoreGW in its place.
It has one of those fancy Sandy Bridge era boards with two USB controllers (a NEC xHCI for the USB 3.0 ports) and two SATA controllers (a Marvell chip to provide 6 Gbps ports because the board chipset is only capable of 3 Gbps).
A dual-port serial card is installed (ttyS4/ttyS5) which now acts as a remote console hub for the Cisco 1760 "lab".
The conventional PCI slot is occupied by a dual-port Intel 82546GB Gigabit Ethernet card, nominally a 64-bit PCI-X card which is sad about being relegated to a 32-bit PCI slot behind a cheap ITE bridge and doesn't reach anywhere near 2xgigabit performance in this setup (hitting only ~185 Mbps transmit rate).
| Port | Connection | Speed |
