\\lanman
is a Debian 11 container running Samba to provide file access through SMBv1, for the various "retro" systems that require it.
There are two copies of \\lanman
, one on Myth at home and another on Ember at my work "lab". They both provide access to the same Syncthing-replicated (or sometimes git-annex
-managed) files, and they both share the same IP address so that OSPF gets to choose the closest instance.
(With multiple users writing to the same share, this could easily cause problems, but with only a single user it generally does not, therefore Samba's CTDB is not used.)
