Rain was my second laptop, an ASUS K52JT purchased in ~2010 to replace Drouth. It dual-booted Arch Linux as its primary OS, as well as Windows 8.1 (later Windows 10), where it had the stage name Raindows. With its discrete ATI Radeon GPU, it was the first PC I'd owned that could somewhat comfortably run 3D games (World of Warcraft, Second Life, and a few others).
The laptop lasted many years through my university studies and after – held together with a couple of additional screws – but has since been abandoned due to its obsolesence combined with increasingly many hardware issues (among other problems, the LCD had started flickering and causing me headaches unless I kept pressing down on the bottom bezel).
At some point I acquired Midnight and although I kept Rain for a while longer, it quickly became only an SSD in my drawer while its chassis collects dust on the shelf.
